There's very little information to go on at the moment, but here's the blotter report from Seattle Police about a fatal bicycle-car collision that appeared to be adjacent to the Burke-Gilman trail on Sunday:

At approximately 4:30 am Sunday, officers responded to reports of a collision between a car and a man on a bicycle in the 7000 block of Seaview Avenue NW. Seattle Fire also responded, and despite their efforts, the bicyclist was declared deceased at the scene.

As is routine, officers evaluated the driver at the scene for any signs of impairment. None were detected. The driver was interviewed and released at the scene.

The King County Medical Examiner's Office has not yet examined the body, but will tomorrow afternoon. Neither the Examiner's Office nor SPD has released the identity of the person riding the bike, but we'll update when we find out more.
